She has sung with Angela in other lineups and other styles, and among other things found her way back to her favorite music, soul, through “She Wonder” (a Stevie Wonder project) – with her favorite band: More Town Soul ;-)

From a very musical family, through vocal training, the Berlin music scene, recording studios, and a range of styles including blues, pop, and soul – among them a Stevie Wonder project and backing Die Gabys – she found her way: to queen of the high vocals in More Town Soul.

The saxophonist from the deep south of Germany has been with MTS since 2006. Although exposed to brass band music at a very early age, after various jazz, blues, and rhythm ’n’ blues projects his heart stayed with soul music. More about André on his website.

Ina Brox, born in 1963, learned recorder, clarinet, piano, saxophone, and guitar at the music school in Filderstadt (near Stuttgart). After finishing high school, she began studying opera singing in Munich, alongside philosophy, theater studies, and Italian studies at LMU.
She paid for her studies as a saxophonist with the Rigan-Clan and later with the group “The Project,” which, among other things, opened for Joe Cocker and Eric Clapton in 1991 and recorded the LP “Rock Classics Vol. 2” as a studio choir for the London Symphony Orchestra. Numerous TV appearances with Jennifer Rush, Johnny Logan, Udo Lindenberg, Falco, David Knopfler, and many more.
Since 1994 she has lived in Berlin (apart from one year in Singapore), plays saxophone in five different bands (the women’s saxophone quartet “First Ladies,” the all-female band “Die Gabys,” the indie band “United Colours,” and “More Town Soul”), and leads her own jazz ensemble, “Moonlounge,” in which she sings, devoting herself especially to jazz standards and Brazilian bossa nova.

“Papa” Roger, also known as “Die Taste” (German for “the key”), because he loves to press every key and button he can get his fingers on. But of course guitar strings are welcome, too.
Roger has been devoted to music all his life, from a young age, in numerous bands, with pop and rock, and now “back to the roots” with gospel and soul. Around the turn of the millennium, he helped build More Town Soul, which makes him the band’s “Papa.” He’s glad our soul family has held together so well to this day, and probably will for a long time to come.
Life is life – standing on stage with good friends is still the greatest thing for him. And not only with More Town Soul, but also with Xtra3 and the Lichtenrade Gospel Choir.

As a musician and music teacher with many years of experience, he digs into the strings, fills the songs with groove, and surprises us again and again with great solos.

Mr. “Funk E. Wolf” Ulf Gerth has been More Town Soul’s guitarist since April 2002. For personal reasons, and to our regret, he has now retired from active performing and devotes himself to the equally important organizational tasks. We thank Ulf for his many years with More Town Soul and for the ideas and inspiration he has enriched us with time and again.
